A Recap of the Lazarex Virtual Gala 2020

On Sunday, September 20, 2020, due to Covid-19, Lazarex Cancer Foundation’s gala became it’s first virtual gala, which turned out to be a silver lining! The big news was our entertainment. Danville-San Ramon local and American Idol 2020 top 10 finalist Grace Leer, now living, recording and performing in Nashville, performed original and cover songs with her band. If you don’t know her, you should check her out!

The gala itself was a mix of live and recorded elements. Live production was broadcast from AMOS Productions in Livermore, CA. Many thanks to comedian Liz Grant, vocalist Grace Leer (of American Idol 2020), emcee Laura Evans, auctioneer Damon Casatico, Events Manager Tami Keeler, plus Lazarex clients, staff and volunteers who made our evening informational, entertaining and inspiring. Congratulations and gratitude to our awardees: Rhonda Long, Invictus Award and Rick Perez, Hands of Hope Award,

Our live Fund-A-Need was spirited and frankly, it was a tsunami of giving that raised about $200K in less than 60 minutes! Our good friend and auctioneer even had trouble keeping up! 450 or so guests tuned in and, thanks to their generosity and our sponsors, we raised over $275,000 (net) for our programs and the patients we serve. lazarex.org/
