April 1, 2020: Shelter in Place extended through May 3rd

On March 31st the state of CA issued a mandate to extend the shelter in place order through May 3rd for six counties in the Bay Area. This includes Contra Costa Country where Lazarex Cancer Foundation is based.

During this time, employees will be working from home following our usual business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Please continue to call our main line (925) 820- 4517. Phone calls will forward to Lazarex staff. If you get the office voice mail, please leave a message and we will return your call.

We are continuing to send reimbursements to our cancer patients in clinical trials, helping identify clinical trials options, and processing new patient applications for assistance while still raising funds to continue to do what we do. We are following the CDC and government guidelines and doing the best we can to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus. We wish the very best for you and your families during this uncertain time. #WeAreAllInThisTogether

March 16, 2020: Order to Shelter in Place

As of Tuesday, March 17, Lazarex Cancer Foundation is part of a six-county shelter-in-place order that goes into effect in the San Francisco Bay Area. This order is expected to last until April 6.

We are doing our best to find workarounds so that we can continue making timely reimbursements to our cancer patients in clinical trials and processing new patient applications for assistance while still raising funds to continue to do what we do. While this, and the long lines at the stores and the lack of toilet paper are an inconvenience, they pale in comparison to cancer patients who are facing delayed treatments, travel restrictions, and inadequate medical resources. So let’s keep it in perspective, follow the CDC guidelines and do the best we can to minimize the spread of the Coronavirus. We wish the very best for you and your families during this uncertain time.
