lifeLINK Removes Barriers
The core initiative of Lazarex Cancer Foundation, lifeLINK, provides financial and navigational assistance directly to cancer patients for clinical trial participation, removing the major barriers to clinical trials for patients with all types of cancer from all walks of life.
Clinical Trial Navigation
The Lazarex Cancer Foundation LCF) Medical Liaison team helps patients navigate through and identify their clinical trial options based on their individual diagnosis, treatment history, physical condition and family situation.
When needed, LCF provides financial assistance for a patient to participate in a clinical trial defraying the associated costs such as travel, lodging, rental cars, diagnostics, etc. LCF also provides funding for a travel companion to provide emotional and logistical support while a patient is in treatment, away from home, family and friends.
LCF reaches out into the medical community to promote our “Ask Us About lifeLINK” campaign, introducing Lazarex program services as a resource for their patients. We can help make FDA clinical trial participation an option for patients that have failed industry standard treatment, who aren’t ready to give up and are seeking alternatives.
Patients receiving financial assistance from LCF may also receive help with their travel and lodging logistics.
Cancer patients who participate in FDA clinical trials can take advantage of medical breakthroughs today, giving them a second chance at life.
Making an Impact
Our IMPACT initiative brings together the significant resources of academic institutions, affiliate medical centers and public health organizations to harness their medical, socioeconomic, ethnic and geographic assets. Combined with the mission and efforts of Lazarex Cancer Foundation, this creates a powerhouse to facilitate a “boots on the ground” effort, effecting significant and much needed change to the status quo of clinical trial recruitment, retention, minority participation and equitable access to cancer care.
